Sports journalism – Match day anticipation
In your eyes, is there nothing better than the anticipation of match day, as your sat on the train heading to stadium? The roar of the crowd, the atmosphere oozing from the stadium, the feeling of seeing the action live before anyone else at home will see it?
Or are you a fan who would much rather watch from the comfort of your own home, or down the pub with your mates? With all the commentary, post and pre-match coverage, and a much better view all round, who could blame you!
Well, no matter what way you experience the match, by enrolling on a Sports journalism course online, you could be writing articles and match reports for football magazines and newspapers, within just a few months!
Well, this is exactly what Ali McLauchlan did, and went on to write and contribute to a number of well known sporting blogs. This is what Ali had to say about the course he took:
‘I signed up for the Sports Journalism Foundation Diploma after noticing it on the internet.
Personally, I think this course is perfect.
‘As I am currently working in Mexico I needed a course I could complete on the internet in my own time. Once you start to complete your modules your enthusiasm builds 10 fold, especially when you receive all the positive feedback and tips.
‘I think the constructive criticism was particularly important for me. My tutor was always keen to point out my mistakes in regards to spelling and grammar and point me in the right direction to make my articles and coursework more interesting, reader friendly and industry suitable.
‘Every marked module was returned immediately with plenty of encouragement and advice.
‘I have enjoyed the course immensely and now I am putting all that I learned into practice. When I write articles
etc I use my modules as a point of reference. All my modules are crucial bible for the future.
‘The cost of the course was excellent as well (I don’t want to sound like a stereotypical tight Scotsman here!).
‘I plan to study further and increase my knowledge and experience.’
