USA Today is by far the leader in commercial daily newspapers; their dail circulation reaches almost 3 million copies (weekdays). It is the second largest daily circulation globally, following the Times of India. The paper is distributed across all fifty States in the US and selected global locations such as Puerto Rico and Guam.
The paper survived the risk of nationwide distribution of a colorful newspaper through television box – like vending machines; they were also among the first to introduce satellite distribution of content, in order to distribute printing across the US. In earlier times there was heavy distribution at travel points and hotels, except the usual newsstands. The most important characteristic of USA Today is their ability to simplify news – break it down to easy-to-comprehend news stories that can be absorbed by mass population. The paper is divided into four main sections: News, Sports, Money, and Life, which are also color-coded to help people identifying them more easily.

My hometown paper. Atlanta Journal Constution, only has paragrah for on the last page under the “Briefly” section. Most times they have the box score. But they hardly ever pick up an AP story about the IndyCar Series. And yet they have 3 pages of Nascab stuff every monday and friday, and 1 page to 1/2 a page the rest of the week.
And the USA Today coverage of the INDY 500 was Pathetic. And the only time Sports illustrated, The Sporting News, ESPN the Magazine, and ESPN actually covers ANY bit of Indy Car Series news its about the Indy 500 or a fatality.
thats just a few of the media outlets that continue to ignore Indy Car racing, yet put out “news” about the Neckcar series !

how bad is the coverage in your in market on the TV, Radio and in the newspaper ? aren’t you sick and tired of it ? Do you think it will take a CCWS merger(the IRL buying what they want of the CCWS or CCWS going bankrupt again?) for some coverage ?
I don’t know why, but here in the US its NASCAR that just dominate auto race. I don’t know if it bothers me, but I wish they show some F1 on major networks too like on ABC, NBC or something. Not just on cable.
I think IRL is doing just bad job marketing the whole thing. Nobody seem to be able to figure out how to get through this NASCAR dominated US auto race community.
